Stress can be a real killer, both in the workplace and in our day to day lives. Although stress serves a solid purpose in human biology our modern lives have brought a surplus that we and our community don’t need. Brighten your office space by opening up the blinds, turning on lamps and turning off a few of the main lights as they may be strenuous on the eyes. In doing this, you lighten up both your space and mood.

Though some believe that you should keep your work and personal life separate, studies have shown that in adding personal trinkets to your workspace, you will not only be happier, you might also be more inspired; increasing your productivity.

3. Bring nature in

For so many people, it’s hard to cope with any city as many cities are surrounded by dull grey buildings. By incorporating nature into your work environment, you increase the breathability to your space which reduce the chance of illness. Additionally, being around nature can boost optimism and self control, therefore reducing your stress.

4. Exercise and healthy living

With our exceedingly busy schedules, it is vital that both our mental and physical health are in check. Exercise releases endorphins in the brain that reduces anxiety and enhances self-esteem; promoting a positive mindset. Try to incorporate exercise into your agenda by going on a walks during lunch breaks or going to the gym after work. As John Adams says: “old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order.”
